Apartment Review for Regency North - Kansas City, MO

We have lived here two years (just because we couldn't afford to break the lease and couldn't afford to move)... and if you EVER have ANYTHING that needs maintenance.. you will probably never get it done. There is always an explaination for why its happening that there is "nothing they can do about".. that's IF you can even get a maintenence guy to show up in the first place. We were told our toilet doesn't flush "because we live on the 2nd floor" ???? They did some remodeling (horrible quality, but looks ok from a distance) and the guys that did the siding pounded so hard on the walls that there are dry wall nails poking out, and they broke our window in the dining room. Only took them 4 months to fix the window (I was impressed). Office staff that you get on the phone are complete idiots and usually very rude. Our apartment was broken into (wonder why they picked us??).. have talked to neighbors around here who have had break-ins, this apt complex was on Fox 4 problem-solvers because they wouldn't let a woman who had been attacked on the property break her lease early because she didn't feel safe here any more. A lot of noisy neighbors. Beer bottles around on the ground, not safe if you have kids especially. Play ground is vandalized regularly with crude comments and pictures. Parking sucks... never know.. sometimes no where to park, sometimes empty lot all different times of day. Oh, and they "re-asphaulted" and made us all park in the street for like 1-2 weeks because of the rain they could never be sure when it would be done... and it wasn't even black top. It is obvious to even someone who doesn't know what they are looking for that all they did was paint over the existing black top. So it looks like crap. Basically, things get jerry-rigged, if they actually try to fix anything, it's never done right. Very OLD apt complex and you can really tell. Signs of settling foundations and leaks all over the place. One of our neighbors had a major leak in the bathroom.. so they ripped out the padding under the carpet and set fans in there. That was about 4-5 months ago or more, still no replacement padding... and obviously the floor having been completely saturated presents a significant respiratory health risk because of the mold. Everyone I have ever talked to in that apartment complex hates it and regrets ever signing a lease. You have been warned. LOL On the plus side though, they are very spacious. LOL
