Apartment Review
DO NOT MOVE HERE
Review Date: 4/24/2005

When I saw the the floor plan and the model apartment, I was in love. I was so ready to move in, but I should have known something wasn't right when they gave us keys to an apartment we hadn't even seen yet. My boyfriend said it was no big deal...until we saw our apartment. When we moved in that faithful night, it was 30 degrees in our apartment with no hint of heat. We froze half the night! The next day--after defrosting--we checked the apartment and saw that it was BARELY like the model and what we saw on the floor plan. The bathroom only had one sink instead of two like the floor plan said; management called it a typo--a typo that hasn't been fixed in months. Just lying! We had (actually, we have)mold/mildew in the hall closet that still hasn't been cleaned yet. The leak in the roof is still causing water streaks on my walls, and is only helping the mold grow. The stove is so 1930's; nothing like the updated "grill" in the model apartment. Other than that, the apartment is o.k. Notice I said apartment and not apartment building! [Breath] After living there for barely a month our neighbors stole our car and we when we reported it, no one from management talked to them; the police didn't even care (major hint for not moving here!!!). When we found the car weeks later, it was shot up. The neighbors were finally evicted after the cops made numerous visits for drugs. When they finally got kicked out, the neighbor down stairs started beating his wife, a dog got in the building and was pooping everywhere, and when I went to check mail, another neighbor was walking out the door carrying a gun! I mean, what the hell!!! A few weeks after that, someone broke in the mailboxes in every building and some idiot started breaking in through the patio doors. As people start moving out, the apartment building get nastier and the carpet gets more...brown or black...your pick. I can't wait until my lease is up but until then, I just hope the light on the back of the building gets fixed, some "landscaping" gets done, my light bill goes down when maintence finally makes my air BLOW to cool the apartment and not just the ceiling, and I can finally find that damn clothes care center!
